For you, what did you enjoy the most about Open House?
• I couldn’t stop thinking about this event after I left. I learned so much about all the neat projects at UBC in such a short period of time. It would be fantastic to see an event like this that involves all post secondary institutions! Not a conference but a wide open space for exhibits and networking.
• Hearing from students about their projects, everyone actually
• The opportunity to discuss our project with so many interested people
• A lot of people sharing information
• Seeing what others are doing with e-learning
• This was a wonderful event-very well organized, great selection of posters
• The networking opportunities
• Many technologies that can be applied to classes
• Presentations
• Finding out whats coming, new tools I can use
• Information and Food
• Energy – opportunity to present
• Talking to presenters
• Networking and meeting others who are interested in Portfolios
• Different ideas to improve learning experience
• Networking/Staff from UBC-O
• Venue/Food
• Nice environment and setup
• The open space environment where we were able to relax and learn and network
• Finding out which technologies are available and supported at UBC
• Most interesting to me was Urology
• Sauder Video Conference
• Prizes
• Finding 1 or 2 presentations that are worth following up — eg: Academic Integrity
• Opportunity for networking and quick overviews of ‘what’s happening’
• Couldn’t believe how nice it was–food, drink, bags, mugs, it was a really well-designed event. I am impressed.
• Great opportunity to network with folks I rarely get to see. Was able to introduce a new colleague to several of his counterpart positions across campus.
• Number, variety and quality of displays; presenters did a very effective job of communicating their topics; venue was terrific. The wine and cheese was a wonderful touch.
• Social networking and find some professionals who are helpful to answer my questions.
• “Range of faculties and tech represented. Informal presentation style. ”
• Social Atmosphere, Networking, Nice wine
• Variety of open house attendees (both internal UBC and external)
• I really like posters + demos. It had a great atmosphere all around — lots of people, wine, great food. Well done!
• Talking to other folks on campus and making contacts.
• I enjoyed the casual yet professional atmosphere, the large number of presenters, the large number of audience attendees, and the look of the venue.
• The opportunity to network and learn about different electronic educational initiatives around campus
• Learning about what’s going on with many of the the wonderful eLearning / technologies group on campus!
• Perfect location. Well laid out, not too cramped, good flow. Perhaps a distinguishing name tag for presenters (diff colour?) so you now who is manning the booths.
• Wouldn’t change anything; keep same variety of poster presentations; perhaps a ‘key note’ address at beginning summarizing advances / trends at UBC in elearning.
• Make it longer next year! It was so well done, and obviously a lot of work went into planning this event.
• Thanks for doing such a great job! It’s a wonderful opportunity to see whats going on in Ed Tech across the University. Very nicely done. I had no idea UBC even was offering such a thing. I am impressed with the whole thing.
• Very Well Organized – I liked the recyclable bags that were given out. Great number of people from different departments on campus.
If you were there, and you still want to send us your feedback, just go here! We’ll see you again at OPEN HOUSE 2010…
